Dutee Chand allowed to take part in the Asian Athletics Championships

Lausanne 1 April 2015 - In the arbitration procedure Dutee Chand v/ Athletics Federation of India (AFI) and IAAF, the hearing took place at the CAS headquarters in Lausanne from 23 to 26 March 2015.

Following the conclusion of the hearing, it was agreed that the athlete would be eligible to compete in the 21st Asian Athletics Championships held on 3-7 June 2015 pending the issuance of a final award. Ms Chand was previously permitted to compete at all national-level events pending the issuance of a final award by the CAS.

The Indian sprinter was declared ineligible last summer by the AFI after a test revealed that her body produces natural levels of testosterone above IAAF guidelines.

Her appeal is directed against both her ban and more generally the "hyperandrogenism" rules of the IAAF.

No date has been set for the communication of the final award yet.
